How it works
mSpot is a music service that allows users to store their music online and listen to it anywhere, including on their mobile devices. The service utilizes several software components to mobilize a customer's music.
It's really simple: you initially download the mSpot Uploader, which takes your music from your PC/Mac and uploads it to mSpot.com. Once the music is available on mSpot.com, you can then access and playback your content from a desktop browser or select mobile devices.
What if I upgrade but then want to cancel?
No problem, you can cancel at any time. You will retain the purchased storage amount through the reminder of the monthly billing period, then at the end your storage will automatically be set back to the free 2 GB limit.
Do you support international upgrades?
Sorry, we are currently set up to offer upgrades for US credit cards only. We are looking to add international billing support soon.
How much FREE storage do I get?
Currently users can get 2GBs of FREE storage, to store roughly 1600 songs.
What are the mSpot system requirements?
For Windows: Windows XP Home Edition or higher. You will need to have the latest priority updates from Microsoft.
For Mac: Mac OS 10.5 or higher.

Managing Your Music
How long will it take to upload my music collection?
When the system tray mSpot icon stops showing the blue up arrow, your upload process is complete. There are notifications in the system tray and on the website detailing how many songs have been uploaded vs. your entire collection. How long it will take depends on your network connection: the faster the network connection, the shorter the upload time. If you have a large music collection, we'd recommend that you leave your computer on overnight to complete the upload process.
Can I upload music to the cloud from more than one computer?
No, the service only allows one music collection from one user to be uploaded to mSpot.com and played on your device.
Why are some songs in a black font and some in a gray font?
Black font songs represent music that has been uploaded to the cloud on mSpot.com. Gray font songs represent music that is in your home music collection but has not been uploaded to the cloud on mSpot.com.
How do I add more music later on?
- Go to the mSpot Uploader Preferences by right clicking the mSpot icon in the System Tray and clicking Preferences.
- Go to the Music Library Tab
- Click Manually Select Your Music and Add Folders
- Go to Settings and Click Sync Music Now

What if I don't want to store any songs on my phone?
If you want to play songs on the mobile app but NOT have the songs stored on your phone, go to Settings and select the "Streaming Only" option. If you select this option you will not be able to play songs on an airplane or anywhere else where there is no Wifi or cellular coverage.
What if I want to download a lot of music at once to my phone?
Use Download Now from the phone app. Just long-press on any artist, album, playlist or song and select "Download Now" and the music will download wirelessly. In the Settings menu you can also control if you want the downloads to occur only when in Wifi (to save on data plans) or both in Wifi and cellular coverage.

Yes, any non-DRM files on your SD card will show up in the mSpot phone player and can be played.
Does my computer need to be connected to play music on my wireless device?
No. Your computer does not need to be connected to listen to music on your device. However, when your computer is not connected, you only have access to music that has been stored in the cloud on mSpot.com.
Troubleshooting
My music stopped uploading.. why?
It could be because you have reached your free storage limit of 2gb. You can check this on the web player by looking in the lower left-hand corner. If this is the case, you can purchase more storage to upload more music. If that's not the issue, try exiting and re-starting the Uploader.
If I want replace a song in the cloud with another song, what do I do?
To make room for new songs, you can either Unload or Delete songs that are already on the cloud. Unload will remove the song from the cloud but keep it in your list, in case you may want to Upload it again later. Delete removes the song from the cloud and your mSpot list (but does not delete the song from your hard drive.) You can select Unload or Delete next to a song, album or artist in the web player.
What are some basic troubleshooting techniques for uploading issues?
- If you don't see all the songs in your web browser that you think has been uploaded, refresh your web browser.
- If that doesn't work or you are having trouble uploading your music, restart your Music Uploader.
- For the PC, quit the mSpot Uploader by clicking on the mSpot icon in your system tray and selecting 'Exit'. To restart, choose the mSpot Uploader from your Start menu.
- For the Mac, quit the mSpot uploader by right-clicking the mSpot icon in your system tray and selecting 'Quit'. (You can also do this by finding mSpot in the Activity monitor and selecting "quit process".) Open up your Applications folder and double click the mSpot Application icon to launch the uploader.
- If you continue to see many songs missing or have a significant mismatch between the number of songs you have uploaded and the number of songs you see in the web player, you will need to "reset" your catalog. WARNING: This will delete your entire library from the cloud and will require a new upload of songs.
- Go to the Music Uploader and uncheck/remove all folders/directories.
- Go to the website player and refresh the page.
- All music should be gone.
- Go back into the Music Uploader and select the music to upload.
- The music will begin uploading.
